He leaned up against the stalled
Dodge Plimpton, sweating and gasping for
breath. Like many sufferers of
Full Moon Kathy,
Uzi Q
required a great deal of
Fibrodyne just to get out
of bed in the morning. All of which pretty much meant that
his dream of playing professional ball for the
Cleveland Rhapsody
was over.
That's when it hit him: "I'll create a musical revue by and
for people who share my condition, and we'll call ourselves
'
Dog Heaven '."
He imagined how they'd tour the world, playing in clubs like
Vanity Fare and
retirement homes like
Stone Ranch. To
finance his dream, he went to the track and bet his life savings
on a sure thing,
Overplex, to win in the
sixth race. Needless to say, his "sure thing" finished dead last, and he was wiped
out, feeling like an utter
Quincy Hunch.
These days our hero pays the bills by selling
Collarit Beautiful door-to-door,
and relaxes in front of the TV watching re-runs of
The Nurture Channel. He
still dreams of touring with the band, but for now his life story
might be called
Curtailing Norma.
The End.
