Looking for a tagline/slogan that expresses the following: this is a “mom & pop, local shop” where you get PERSONALIZED ATTENTION and everyone gets a treatment plan INDIVIDUALIZED to meet their needs.

I opened a Physical Therapy business 4 months ago, in the community I grew up in and where I’m now raising a family. It that’s off to a great start, and I’m placing a 2’x2’ ad in a local supermarket entrance-way to let everyone know I’m here. It will include 3 smaller pictures of me treating patients in the clinic, as well as a large picture of me.

    My Name: Rodney Weiss, DPT
Company Name: Weiss Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation
Current Tagline on website: ”Choose Wisely. Make the Weiss Choice” (Which partially came from a prior Wordlab suggestion!)
Current Tagline the advertiser wants to use: ”The Sooner you begin Rehabilitation…the Sooner You Can Get Back to Life”

I’d appreciate any suggestions for a tagline/slogan that more specifically expresses the “PERSONALIZED” OR “INDIVIDUAL” attention, which is what really separates my clinic from other local businesses.

THANKS! Love the “Physical Therapy Done Weiss” and “Physical Therapy the Weiss Way”!!! Those especially because they refer to the the clinic (or myself)…

The way the ad is designed, a 2-part slogan would work because the first part “The Sooner you begin Rehabilitation” is across the top of the ad, and the second part “The Sooner You Can Get Back to Life” is under some pictures.

Could one of these be creatively expanded a bit? Or would you use just one of the above taglines at the top and then some info bullets or something below???

…if you’ll permit me to say, what’s the rationale for having your name in the slogan? Does everyone know you so it adds value (In which case, that’s a good reason)? or is it an ego-trip (in which case it’s a waste of a slogan)?

Come to that, the same applies to having a ‘big picture’ of you…..

When it comes to advertising, put yourself on the outside looking in, not the inside looking out.

‘We don’t do therapy by the book…
….we do it by the individual’

Personalized Therapy is a Weiss Decision!

@Chris – LOL, if you met me for 3 minutes, you’d know there’s no ego trip here. I do love your suggestion, as well!

The name & pic are important, because as I stated above, I opened my business “in the community I grew up in and where I’m now raising a family.” The #1 purpose of the ad is for people to recognize the name and face and say, “I know that guy! I’m going to see him for therapy!” or, “I saw him for therapy several years ago before he had his own business, and he was great…next time I need therapy, I can see him at his own place!”

However, the name is on the ad already, and my name is next to my picture. “Weiss” definitely doesn’t need to be in the tagline. It just seems many people feel that “Weiss” lends itself to substitution for “Wise” among other things…

The #2 purpose for the ad is to tell people who don’t know me that there’s a new PT place in town with personalized attention, individual care…

    Thanks for the input!

In light of your previous remark, I see no reason to change your present business name or your current tagline, ”Choose Wisely. Make the Weiss Choice”, particularly if you want to promote yourself to existing and new customers.

Well, the problem with all the “Weiss Guy” puns is that they will make your ad look like a high school student council election poster: “Make the Weiss choice for student body president,” that sort of thing. Take heed of @chris‘ advice. If you have to do this ad with your picture in it, then go for it, sure, introduce yourself to the community. But future marketing efforts should build a brand that is bigger than you.

    Good feedback Gingi – thanks.

For what it’s worth, I think name puns in this context are for the ‘also rans’. If you are good at what you do (and it sounds as though you are) then sell the difference in what you do.

The critical audience is those people in your community who DON’T yet know you; those who do will come because they already have some awareness of who you are/what you do. A (small) pic to remind them of that may be sensible marketing. But for those who don’t know you, who cares what you look like? What matters to them is why you are different from (and better than) your competitors, That is why a message around that should be the main focus of your advertising.

Preach to the unconverted, not to the converted.
