    I really need help!!!

Today really is my birthday (11/25)… I have been stuck for 2 days. Checking domains and everything. I really need a .com or minimum .net with a great company name that matches our brand… We are all Senior Construction Engineers that are giving back to the foreign companies in which we work or the countries that need our help. Our Clients are all NGOs, USAID, US Dept of State, Japenese, Italian and German Embassies, Red Cross etc…

I have been working overseas in reconstruction or undeveloped areas for the past 8 years. I have been asked to develop the following by the men/women I know:

This is Non-profit and GREEN. I was hoping for a Green Tree Frog on the logo (maybe) or anything that feels good with kids, healthcare etc… The projects will be placed around the world in poor undeveloped areas (Africa, Asia, SA etc)…

The projects are focused on schools, clean water and health care in rural areas, but the name needs to encompass all of it… Not just solar, water, education or health…

Here is what I asked my Architect to design today and maybe it will help:

Hi Brian – I have been approached over the past couple of weeks to provide a standard ”Community (Location) Center” for the NGOs I work with that can be a ”Cookie Cutter” and manufactured/shipped out from the US (or other equivalent standard providers/manufacturers) to locations around the world. It will need to be Pre-Engineered Buildings for quick construction that includes Classrooms for children (including toliets/showers), a Clinic, DFAC, Housing for the Instructors, Clinic Staff, Security, other Staff, etc… to locations throughout Africa.

It will also require solar technology, containerized Water/Wasterwater, Well, networking for laptops, TV and COMMs, a small Facilities Workshop, Area for Backup Gens/Fuel Storage, Parking and Playground.

It needs to fit the smallest footprint possible and GREEN (maybe we could add something for them to teach/develop agriculture in extreme conditions)… Please call me Monday when you get the Engineers together…

I hope this helps… I have looked at citycenter, rural development, green, everything with community, you name it… I am just stuck… It is so important so when I return to my Clients, Friends etc… I have a name that is immediately recognized for what we are trying to do…

This is going to be a non-profit (even though we can’t use org. since we already own a for-profit)…

Any help would be greatly appreciated, but please remember it needs to focus on what we are creating… This is so important and more than likely you’ll hear about over the next few years if everything falls into place correctly….

    Thank you – Bobby

Don’t get hung up on the notion that you must have a matching domain name — you don’t (see http://www.zinzin.com/manifesto/got-them-domain-domination-blues/ for more about that). Find the name you want and then add an appropriate modifier word to get the domain name. Because of Google, it doesn’t matter where you are (the URL), only how well optimized your site is for Google. In other words, people don’t search by typing in domain names, they search by doing keyword searches in search engines.

So if you like “GreenTree,” see if you can get greentreedevelopment.org, or some other greentree_____.org domain.

    Lilypad Engineering

Leapfrog (also the name of a kids toy. The danger with a frog symbol is that it’s already widely used and all of the common names have been taken by different domains.)
