My husband and I are starting a small donut shop, and can’t come up with a good name. We’d like to stay away from anything funny or that gives the “greasy spoon” image. We’re going to give it more of a coffee house feel, though maybe a little less urban-feeling than the starbucks-type coffee house. We’re also using all natural ingredients, and wouldn’t mind having that emphasized in the name… So, I guess we want to convey taste, comfort, naturalness… Your suggestions are much appreciated!

Kate, I work in foodservice and I applaud your family’s effort to start a place of your own. Such a tough business. Are you going beyond donuts in the pastry department? Will there be muffins, croissants, breads, etc.? With no more to go on, I think the natural angle is a good one. Try these on for size and share what you think about the direction…

Thanks for the suggestions! We’re still brainstorming, but we’ve come up with a few more that we like– your suggestions have been a help!
As far as branching out, I think we’re going to do a few other offerings that are slightly healthier, but for the most part we’re trying to avoid adding items that require extra equipment. Mainly, we will stick to donuts and gourmet coffee (locally roasted).
