Product Names

Public Group active 2 days ago

You’ve worked long hours and spend a lot of money developing a killer product — make sure you give it a name that will propel it out in the world, not let it get pushed to the back of the shelf. Post requests for product names as new topics in Forum for this group.

We are trying to create a name for a deep fried rice, ham and cheese ball appetizer (quarter size). All we can come up with so far is “Rice Bites”. Any ideas??

We are a small, fun cafe that serves mostly ice cream, specialty coffee and some food items.

Thanks SO much for any help.

Amy, what kind of restaurant is this? Is there a cultural “hook?” (e.g., Cuban, South American…). Also, who is your target market? Are you going for “tongue-in-cheek” and kitschy or are you trying for a more upscale segment? Deep fried rice balls have real potential if you want to get a bit frisky with the naming. Do tell, what are some of the other apps on the menu. Sorry for all the questions, but it’s better than shooting in the dark…

Thanks SO MUCH for your reply. I guess I should have given more info – I will update my post. It is a small cafe in Michigan, called Flip ‘n Dip, that serves ice cream (sundaes, flurries, ice cream pizza, etc.), specialty coffee and some food items. Our menu has pulled pork and pulled chicken, hot dogs, chicken strips, salads, mushroom barley burger, poppers, sweet potatoe fries, etc., etc. We are really looking for a fun name, so “tongue-in-cheek” would be great.

Again, THANK YOU for your help!

Thanks for all the fun name guys. Pretty funny! But we are trying not to focus on the ham, since it is such a small ingredient. Mostly rice, cheese and some seasonings. And maybe a little less tongue-and-cheek…

You guys really are great – thank you so much!!

If RICE is the main ingredient, consider a “Chinese” angle:
    Ben Wa’s
    Cheesy Ben Wa’s
    Fried Ben Wa’s

If Cheese is dominant, consider going “Italian”

    Bocce Rice Balls
    Bocce Balls
    Bocce Formaggio
