I represent a gold/silver mining company and they are trying to develop a new brand. They are currently named after only one of 8 projects and they want a name that isn’t predicated on a single project.

A lot of mining companies are named after projects, which is sort of crazy. There are also quite a few invented and evocative names.

Newmont = New York + Montana
Barrick = re-used from an old oil and gas company
Goldcorp = simple amalgamation name
Kinross = hometown (in Scotland) of founder
Yamana = Japanese clan or Yaghan people in Chile/Argentina
NovaGold = explosion + gold
New Gold = result of series of mergers
Gold Fields = self explanatory

Any ideas? There are about 1500 public mining companies so lots of common names have been used.
