Gibberish (language)

Can anyone direct me to a (free) website that teaches the language of "Gibberish"? Better yet, if anyone can just place the major chracacteristics of it right here. Thanks!

Gibberish is the family of languages created by inserting a certain code syllable in the middle of each syllable of a regular sentence.

For example, if the code syllable was "ob", then "Hello, Thomas" would be translated as "Hobellobo, Thobomobas". While a relatively simple useless language, Gibberish can be difficult to understand when spoken swiftly and sounds merely like meaningless babble, which is how it received its name.

While any syllables could theoretically be used as the code syllables, there are some which have risen to greater use.

Ubbi Dubbi-- "ub"
Double Dutch-- "ag"
Op (or Oppish)-- "op"

In addition, some variations exist with longer code syllables such as "ubbagg", resulting in even more gibberish-sounding gibberish. (Yubbaggou dubbaggon't wubbaggant tubbaggo knubbaggow).

I heard that gibberish was...its hard to explain but heres the formula: if the word was hello, you would take split up the word into syllables. 2.)the first syllable is "hel" you would take the first letter (h) and add "idda" it would now be "hidda" then you would take the rest of the syllable and add a "g" to the front of it it would now sound like "hiddagel" 2.)now you would work with the second syllable "lo" the first letter is "l", so it would change to "lidda" then, you would add a "g" to the rest of the syllable (o), and it would be "go" the whole syllable would sound like "liddago" 3.)putting the syllables together the whole word would now be "hiddagelliddago" it takes a while to get, but then gets easier

Get this people. Short sweet and simple. To speak Gibberish, add "idig" before every sepapate vowel sound in the word. Ignore the silent vowels. For example: Hello=Hidigellidigo. Me and my friend Annie learned to speak it & are using it all the time. Lovely, isn't it?

this is the way that i learned to speak gibberish back in the 5th grade... so like 7 years ago...

what you do is put "uthug" before a spoken vowel...

huthugelluthugo (hello)

muthugy nuthugame uthugis kuthugelluthugy (my name is kelly) notice here that there is no "uthug" before the "e" in name because it is not a spoken vowel.

it's tough at first... but pretty soon it's way easy. and i know that there are a lot of different ways that people say it, but this is the most common way i've heard it spoken. any questions? e-mail me at kellyo_012@hotmail.com with the subject: GIBBERISH. hope i helped!

RE: Gibberish (language)

Posted by:

yes gibberish is a real language, but i don't think that that was what the first person was talking about. because it's a really complex language... but it had evolved here into a childhood language that kids can speak with each other...

and there was a question about one letter words like "a" and i, you do the same thing as i said before...

uthugi -- so, uthug is put before the spoken vowel "i"

uthuga -- once again, uthug before the "a"

here's an example of the gibberish i know... see if you can understand what it's saying based on my explanation:

tuhugoduthugay uthugi uthugam guthugouthuging tuthugo guthugo thuthuge puthugark wuthugith muthugy fruthugiends. wuthuge uthugare guthugouthuging tuthugo pluthugay futhugootbuthugall uthugand uthugeat uthuga puthugicnuthugic. uthugit wuthugill buthuge futhugun.

ok, so i couldn't really think of anything interesting to talk about so that's what you get...

this is what it says: today i am going to go to the park with my friends. we are going to play football and eat a picnic. it will be fun.

exciting, huh? yeah... well i tried. later!

ok u can spell it jiberish jibberish giberish or gibberish... it doesnt really matter! and who ever said gibberish was the devils language is stupid because they have bibles written in gibberish hidgiolly bidigibidgible. the thing is you add the word "idig" infront of the first vowel in every sylable... some ppl will do it different ways but thats the most common some ppl also speak oppish which is when you add "op" or "eggy peggy" there r tons of other ones 2! you could even make up ur own ... have fun learning ur new tounge!!! haha

..and at the risk of injecting a boring note into the thread, the etymology of the word 'gibberish' seems extremely uncertain: amongst the suggestions are that it is onomatopoeic; that it derives from the swedish 'giba' and that it is derived from 'jabber'....

...and if that's not boring enough, the word gibberish likely influenced the naming of Gibberellin in 1939.

Etymology: New Latin Gibberella fujikoroi, fungus from which it was first isolated

Date: 1939

: any of several growth-regulating plant hormones that promote cell elongation and activity of the cambium, induce parthenocarpy, and stimulate synthesis of nucleic acids and proteins

I visited Sciliy last year our tour guide explained that the early jewish settlers on the island spoke a form of Yiddish known as Gibberish. This language was created at a time when Jewish ppl were being persecuted on the island, settlers on Sciliy were already familiar with Yiddish to a code derivitive was created to confuse the local roman settlers.

Does anybody know the camp whiteman way of gibberish?

13-Dec-03:

RE: Gibberish (language)

Hailey

Alright here's how to do it.

let's start with a one syllable word. how about "hi".

well the rule is you insert "the" after the first sound(which here is "h"), and "ga" b4 the last sound (which here is "i")

So the word "hi" in gibberish becomes "hethegi"(he-the-guy)

so there's a one syllable word. but for two or more syllables, you just use that rule on each syllable.

For example, My name is hailey. the two syllables are "hai" and "ley". so for the first one (hai) I insert "the" after the "h" and "ga" before the "i". so the first syllable becomes "hethegay" (he-the-gay).

now I do the 2nd syllable (ley). I insert "the" after the "l" and "ga" before the "y". so the second syllable is "lethegey" (le-the-gey).

then I just put it together.

So my name in jibberish is "hethegaylethagey" (he-the-gay-le-the-gey)

I hope you found my info useful.

i just learned gibberish over the past two days and it is super easy, depending on which kind you learn. there's so many differen't variations of it, but i tried about 5 different kinds and i found that the easiest way was to put "ub" in front of each vowel that is heard when spoken. its really simple and its alot easier to learn if u start by writting it first, and then start talking it. its super fun and a great way to keep you parents or pesky siblings to not know what you are saying! have fun with it! ;)

Ok there are so many ways oh speaking the language. Yes people can understand eachother when they speak it. You can not tell a person how to speak it because there are so many ways. I learned about 14 forms of it already. When people ask me how to speak it i tell them that i really can't expalin it. They listen to me and my friends speak it and then they pick it up from there. If you really want to learn how to speak ask someone to make a tape or something. I really doubt that you will learn it off the internet. It is really easy to learn and right once you get the hang of it but there are just some things that are not meant ot be taught. :)

Hey everyone. It isn't hard AT ALL. Just before everyone vowel that you hear, (for example, not the 'a' in please, because it is silent) put "idig" in front of the vowel. it is that simple! for example, my name would be cidigaitlidigyn. All the vowels you hear, have "idig" in front of it. It is that simple everybody. Pracitce writing words with it first, and pretty soon, you will catch on. This works very easily, and in my opinion is the easiest yet. If ANYONE needs help, email me at srbabygirl628@hotmail.com It really works! Have fun!

Learn to speak Gibberish this is like how it was in that movie "slums of beverly hills" remember when they were in the bathroom at the end and rita says sometimes like twice sithergome-tithergimes its the same!!!!!!

Ok here are the steps to speak gibberish words that only have one sylable...

ok, say you wanna say the word "dog" which is one sylable first, you take the first letter of "dog" and add "ither" at the end.

example:: "dither"

second, take the rest of the letters after "d" and before you say the rest, you put a "g" sound in front of it. example:: "gog"

Your result is "dithergog"

Now to say gibberish words that have 2 sylables...

Say you wanna say the word "flower" which is two sylables

First, take the first letter of "flower" and add "ither" after it example:: "fither"

second, take the rest of the letters after "f" and before you say the rest, you put a "g" sound in front of it. example:: "glow"

you now have the first sylable of flower done which is "fitherglow"

now you have to do the next sylable of it...

now for the next sylable do the same thing you did with the first, only eith the letters of the second sylable

your result would be "witherger"

your final result for "flower" would be.... "fitherglow-witherger"

For words with more than 2 sylables, just follow the steps in the 1 sylable one, but for each sylable add the step....

one more thing an improtant rule!! if the word you wanna say starts with a vowel, put the vowel letter in place of the "i" in the "ither"

example:: you wanna say "out", so you'd say "othergout" example 2:: you wanna say "umbrella", you'd say "uthergum-bithergre-litherga"

Examples of other words to help ya understand....

one sylable: cat=cithergat plow=pitherglow fall=fithergall

two sylable words" printer=pithergrin-titherger dollie=dithergoll-ithergie racecar=rithergace-cithergar

more than 2 sylable words: computer=cithergom-pithergu-titherger piano=pithergi-athergan-othergo

So... you think youre a pro at this already? To tell if ya are, see if you can understand this....

hithergi! mithergy nithergame ithergis Kithergt-ritherga! witherghts yithergour nithergame? withergell ithergi githergots tithergo githergo! bithergye!

do you know what that says? if you found it out, you are great at gibberish but if ya didn't ya need a lil more work at it k? well i hope ya all had fun and learned this cool language cya!

BITHERGYE!! :)

i think the easiest way of gibb. is to add 'idig' infront of each vowel

ex.- hey= h+idig+ey= hidigey

now with double vowels, like the word 'moon'

ex.- moon= m+idig+oon= midigoon

last silent vowels, like 'have'

ex.- have= h+idig+ave= hidigave

its that easy ;)

ok i learened a simple form of gibberish for example. I, would be ivagi all you do is add "ivag" to every word but u start with the first letter of the word so hi would be hivagi , notice the ivag in the middle and the i sound in hi at the the end. also notice it begins with the first letter of the word. one thing you say each syllable as if its another word for example a 2 syllabled wprd like "shopping" would be shivagop (for SHOP) and ivagin (for the ing at the end) so it would be "shivagop-ivaging" i hope u can now understand my version of gibberish! see if u can work out what this says. privagac-tivagice mivagakes pivager-fivagict

Cybernet, (The Code Master)

Greetings. I am Cybernet, The Code Master. I am thrilled to discover that there are others interested in secret languages out there. I am fluent in several types of Gibberish and wish to help newcomers in learning the language. Also, just so you know, there are several types of secret languages out there besides Gibberish.

15-Aug-04:

RE: Gibberish (language)

Posted by:

Cybernet, (The Code Master)

There are actually thousands of secret languages in the world, and I am fluent in many of them. Here are a few of the many secret languages that I know and can speak: Pig Latin (The most popular), Oppish, Ubbi Dubbi, Bush Talk, Eggy-Peggy, Double Dutch Type A, Double Dutch Type B, B-talk, Jeriqouza (Or Jerigonza), Bird talk, Cazarny (Carny talk), Goose, Turkey Irish, Ibbish, Gibberish type A, Gibberish type B, Gibberish type C, And Gibberish Type D. If anyone has questions about any of the secret languages listed above, then please post it on the message board to 'Cybernet'. Oh yes, one more thing. PLEASE do not mention that 'Reliant K' song again! It's driving me mad! The words, as the name implies, are most likely meaningless gibberish (Not the type we are discussing) Best Regards-Cybernet, (The Code Master).

RE: Gibberish (language)

Posted by:

Cybernet, (The Code Master)

To save time, I have decided to explain all the 'Gibberish' secret languages. If you have questions on any of the other non-Gibberish secret languages, than you can ask. Gibberish type A is the most popular type of Gibberish: the one where you add 'idig'. Type B, is the 'itherg'type. Type C is the 'utherg' one. And type D is the type which involves 'idag'.All of these types are largely accepted. However, there are roughly twenty less-known variations of the Gibberish variations. A prime example would be the 'uday' and 'qusay'. Gibberish types A, B, C, and D can be learned from previous posts. As somebody else already explained: Although Gibberish itself is a secret language, the name also apllys to a family of secret languages. This family (Gibberish) involves inserting a code syllable into a word. A prime example of this is Pig-Latin,Oppish, and Double Dutch type A.All three of these were mentioned by 'a brand new u' (The second post). The Double Dutch he mentioned was Double Dutch type A. Double Dutch type B is far more complex, involving changing each consonant into a syllable. Each consonant is changed into a different syllable, and spelling must be precise. (For example 'G' is always 'Gug')The idea is, that you spell out your words with the coded consonants (non-vowels) and leave the vowels the way they are( so the vowels do not change.) Here is an example. In double Dutch type B, the sentence 'the cat walked by' is: Tuthutche cashatut washalulkukedud byub. I am not very good at explaining, so look 'Double Dutch language' up on the web. Please repond-Cybernet, (The Code Master)

The reason I came here is because my cousin and his friends talk in gibberish all the time (fluently, i might add), and it was driving me crazy! They could be dissing me and i wouldn't even know it. And I must say this thread is the most useful one I have ever been to. Thanks a lot

I just recently became fascinated with gibberish. i thought about that movie "slums of beverly hills" and i practiced all day. i rented the movie tonight and i realized i had it wrong. instead of idig, i was using gida. now i am get it pretty well. now i just have to get my friend to understand the right way now. Her and her friends use the UP way, where you take the first letter of the word and add UP to the end. Unless it is a vowel, then you just say the letter. For example for Maria, it would be Mup-A-Rup-I-A. Another one is you could use UNG instead of UP. So Lisa would be Lung-I-Sung-A. Any questions, feel free to ask on the message board. :) have a great day

An easy way for anyone to learn Gibberish, (and it is spelled "Gibberish")is to after the first letter add "the g" and then the rest of the letters to the word. Now some people may say dagi or digi, but this is for plain english so even little kids can understand how to speak this quote on quote language. Example:"I love you"-would be:I the gi L the gove Y thegou and single letters like I and A just and that letter after the letter G.And also pronounce the first letter like you would pronunce it saying the actual word. I know that there are no real sites explaining how to speak Gibberish so i hope this helps someone

You are indeed correct, Angie. There are many directions to follow. Fortunatly, they pretty much been condensed into my earlier post. Please read it. However, like I said, the most well known version is the 'idig' one. It's easy: insert 'idig' before every vowel. Exept if there are two vowels in a row. There. Is that simple enough for you?

um...also, how do you speak pig latin? It seems simple enough...i think

31-Aug-04:

To Angie

Cybernet, (The Code Master)

Pig Latin, (Ig Pay Atin Lay) is the most popular types of secret language. This is because it is easy to learn and speak. Here's how to do it: If the word starts with a consonant, (a non-vowel) then you take the first letter of the word and stick it on the end. With me so far? Right. Now, add 'ay' on to the end. For example: The word 'cat' would be 'at-cay'. The word 'dog' would be 'og-day'. Computer would be 'omputer-cay'. Okay, now, if the word begins with a vowel, just put 'ay' on the end of the word. Example: 'Apple' would be 'apple-ay'. Some people like to put 'way' on the end of words that start with a vowel. Not me. Whatever, to each his own... Anyway, now for an example sentance: In Pig Latin, 'The little red fox jumped over the big brown log' would be: E-thay ittle-lay ed-ray ox-fay umped-jay over-ay (or over-way) e-thay ig-bay own-bray og-lay. I hope that helps!

u have everything right except the word 'team'

wen 2 vowels r next to each other u only put one 'idig' infront of the first vowel

so 'team' would b 'tidigeam'

team = t+idig+eam = tidigeam

and thats how it works and i also check this site for new questions

I keep hearing my friends speak gibberish,
and when I hear them it's a lot harder than to read it on

give a final word on this form? Thanks.

RE: Gibberish (language)

Posted by:

need help with gibberish? well you got it. I think ur friends are useing "ither" form cause thats what i use with my friends. this is what u do: 1 sylabble word- Lets say the word is dog. you take the first letter "d" add "ither" behind it. now it is "dither". now put a g behind that and say the rest "og". Then that would make dog in gibberish dithergog.same thing with the word cat. it would be cithergat. 2 or more sylabble words- you would do exact ly the same thing except you break it down into sylabbels. Say the word is water. you would first do "wat" which would be "withergat" then do "er" which would now be "etherger". put them togeter and you get "withergatetherger". o i forgot to say if the words begin with a volwel like owl. you would replace the first letter for "i" from "ither". then put that letter behind the g. like this. othergowl would be owl. is would be itergis. Hope this helps. if it does write back to 12345@hotmail.com
