I heard the news today,
Ohmy. Researchers at Seoul National University (SNU) cloned "man's best friend" and, as you might expect, what caught our attention is the name—Snuppy, a combination of the school's acronym and the English word "puppy."

This is a brilliant name for a cloned dog. It has a playful sound that's not literally
a word for dog in Korean. On a psychological level, Snuppy is an allusion to a Western cultural icon that evokes pleasant childhood memories for American consumers who are most likely to spend thousands of dollars on a cloned pet made in Korea.
Perhaps this is a good place to copy one of our posts from last year, about CC the world's first cloned cat.
Double Your Pet Investment: The creative folks at the Savings and Clone company are offering the chance of a lifetime for cat lovers who want to clone their favorite pets in a "9 Lives" experiment. Nine lucky cats will be reproduced by genetic cloning in a project that is expected to duplicate the company's success in Operation CopyCat, which produced CC the first cloned cat, in 2001. To get involved in The First Nine Lives Extravaganza, you must have US$50,000 to spend on your very special cat.

In the early days of blogging, Wordlab didn't have any pictures—only words. Since then, it has become
de rigueur for blogs to post
photos of cats to make an emotional connection with readers. So, in the interest of brand strategy, here's a pic of this blog's favorite kitten:
CopyCat.
